Compassionate Leadership

Developing your Compassionate Mind

It's a transition that requires work, commitment and a deep personal desire and/or reason to develop your best self. Hilary knows this from her own life experiences and continued commitment to developing her own EQ and Compassionate Mind.

It also takes time, in a safe environment, to notice and understand what makes us uncomfortable, anxious, scared, shameful. Self-compassion is the starting point.

We work with clients to

  • notice, focus and become more aware

  • see the choices available to them

  • take personal responsibility

  • turn intention into impact.

Compassionate, people-centred leaders are ahead of the game and at the forefront of developing the new generation of competitive advantage.

Often perceived as pink and fluffy or a weakness, a motivation of compassion guides leaders to be courageous, strong and  emotionally-intelligent  who can:

  • Build strong relationships and trust at all levels of the organisation

  • Boost employee engagement

  • Create connected, committed businesses.

Compassion is ...

According to Potential Project's book The Mind of the Leader, compassion is an intention that does not necessarily change our actions but changes the way we conduct our actions.

Can you think of a time when you gave feedback to an employee that was driven by frustration rather than having the courage to give that same feedback with compassion and clarity of meaning?

How do you measure up?

Just like getting fit, starting a diet or stopping smoking … habits can be hard to change!  We have to do ‘reps’ to build new muscle-matter in our brains in the same way you do at the gym.

Indigo acts as your personal trainer to help you understand and remind you of your own motivation.  We commit to working with and supporting clients when those ‘reps’ feel difficult.
